The Cylinder Heads from the 90’s onwards are mainly ALLOY MULTI VALVE DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAM – PETROL – DIESEL 4 &6 Cylinders & there are a few V8’s & a few CAST IRON HEADS still being produced. Petrol Economy is a massive Factor in Designing the Late Model engines & nearly 100% of these Heads are now Alloy. There are the V8 Holden LS heads which are a popular Head to do PERFORMANCE MODIFICATIONS on which we really do LOVE TO DO. All these alloy heads can suffer from Head Gasket failures, Hardness issues if Over Heated & are prone to Bending Valves if the Timing Belt fails. We are seeing more & more of these heads mainly due to LACK OF SERVICING. This is generally why the Timing Belt fails & the lack of oil changing has become so bad these days that the oil breaks down & causes ENGINES – CYLINDER HEADS TO FAIL.
